Helen MirrenI thought Meryl Streep was having a career year and indeed she is:"Prairie Home Companion," "The Ant Bully," Oscar talk for "The DevilWears Prada" (she'll be up for another Oscar next year when she getsthe juicy role of Martha Mitchell in "Dirty Tricks") and to top it off"Mother Courage" in Central Park with audiences lining up overnightfor tickets.But Helen Mirren is having a career year as well. She just won theEmmy for the HBO miniseries "Elizabeth I," she is earning raves inVenice for playing Elizabeth II in "The Queen" and in the fall shereturns to Jane Tennison in a new "Prime Suspect." (We'll just forgetabout her playing Cuba Gooding Jr.'s lover in "Shadowboxer.") UnlessStreep reconsiders and puts her "Prada" performance in the BestSupporting Actress category where it belongs, they'll be facing off atnext year's Oscars.
